  Principal Research Domains:  
 
1) Systematics and ecology of the littoral marine molluscs from Azores (<50m); 2) inferences relative to their capacity of geographic dispersion; 6) Pleistocene and Miocene Molluscs from Santa Maria; 7) marine hot springs in the Azores and their influence on the malacological communities; 8) Marine molluscs from the seamounts (D. João de Castro Bank e Princesa Alice Bank – Azores; Ormonde and Ampère, Northeast Atlantic): processes and patterns of colonization and speciation; 9) Biological associations of molluscs / algae in the Azores.
